Demi Lovato Premieres New Youtube Original Documentary

Lovato Walks Viewers Into Her Former Eating Disorder And Personal Struggles

Demi Lovato premiered her new documentary, ‘Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated’ on Tuesday. The Youtube original doc is a serious look at her rise to fame and the complications that came along with it.

The singer took social media to share a picture showing her evolution with bulimia along with a positive message of recovery.

Demi is just ‘Simply Complicated’

Demi Lovato takes fans into an extremely honest talk in her new documentary ‘Simply Complicated.’ The YouTube original doc was directed by Hannah Lux Davis and filmed throughout seven months, which also marked the making of Lovato’s last album ‘Tell Me You Love Me.’

The 78-minute film revisits Lovato’s ups and downs of her road to recovery and sobriety, all this from the first-person point of view. It also features confessionals from members of her inner circle, including longtime friends Nick and Joe Jonas.

The singer leaves no subject out of the discussion, from the continuing battle with her eating disorder to the aftermath of her breakup from ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama. And her new and more opened dating life now that she’s decided to date both men and women.

Above all, ‘Simply Complicated’ shows that Demi’s missteps and hardships are essential elements to her story, music, and relationship with her fans. And any imperfections from her past have borne bravery for her future

“I know what music can get you through, I know what music can do emotionally for somebody because I’ve experienced it myself,” she says at the end of the film. “And I wanted to create that for other people. There’s nothing more beautiful than being able to connect with people through music, in my eyes.”

‘Simply Complicated’ is now available on YouTube.

Demi proves that recovering from an ED is possible

Demi shared a before and after photo set on her Instagram story on Wednesday, along with a hopeful message. The singer captioned it “Recovery is possible,” referencing her struggles with bulimia.

Recently, Demi has revealed that fitness has been a huge focus for her staying on course with her health, both physically and mentally. The singer has stated that she uses cardio, strength training, MMA and jujitsu to keep herself strong and active.

“My favorite part about fitness is the way you feel afterward,” she said in an interview explaining that she really feels a healthy impact on her mental health.

While she’s still working on her health every day, she’s proof that — as her caption said — “recovery is possible.”
