Sansa, I mean, Sophie Turner got engaged to her Jonas Brothers’ boyfriend over the weekend. Joe Jonas and Turner shared their happy news via Instagram on Sunday.
Sophie’s engagement news follows Leslie Rose and Kit Harrington’s engagement announcement last September, making it the second ‘Game of Thrones’ wedding announcement.
Congratulations are in order for Joe and Sophie
It’s ‘Game of Thrones’ engagement season, or so it seems since Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas just got engaged over the weekend.
The couple took to Instagram to share the happy news with corresponding Instagram posts on Sunday. Each of them posted an image of Sophie’s hand on top of Joe’s, showing off the beautiful engagement ring against their black clothes. And the news received nothing but love.
Joe’s younger brother, Nick, shared the same pic on his Instagram page writing,
“Ahh! Congratulations to my brother…and sister in law to be on your engagement, I love you both so much.”
Joe and Sophie began dating last October, and have kept their relationship really low key, without being photograph together in official events, and rarely appearing on each other’s Instagram. They didn’t make their relationship Instagram official until January. Last September, they added a Siberian Husky puppy to their family and took to Instagram to welcome it.
Keeping things private
In an interview to InStyle, Sophie Turner spoke about her high-profile relationship and shared a key element that makes it work. While she admittedly likes to “keep things pretty private” in her personal life, she revealed what she found “easy” about dating Jonas.
“I found it easier to date someone who understands the industry or is in that world,” she said.
“You realize that you’re not going to see each other all the time. And you don’t feel like a jerk when you’re like, ‘My publicist says I can’t do this … ‘ ” The actress elaborated on the private relationship in July, to Sunday Times.
“I very much isolated myself for a while and forgot what was fun. Going out with friends, going out to eat, not really having a care,” she said. “And people I’ve met recently in my life have drawn me out of that. It really helps you own those insecurities. The things I tortured myself about before, I can forget about.”
According to the British publication, Sophie’s in a much more positive place in life than she was before. “I’m happier than I’ve been in a very long time,” she said.
