Colbert is executive producer of the joint series with Chris Licht. Licht a LateShow friend, who acts as a showrunner, reports Deadline. Tim Luecke, co-creator of the Late Show episode that gave rise to Trump’s caricature, serves as lead animator.
Because Colbert is one of Trump’s most outspoken critics, the cartoon president might not be as generous to Trump as, say, Barry & Joe would be with Obama and Biden. Showtime will debut the first of the animated show with 10 weekly episodes on Feb. 11th. It will also preview the animation online and on demand on Jan. 28th.
