Ricky Martin Is Cast In FX’s ‘Versace: American Crime Story’

This Casting Is Worth At Least A Million Bucks

Ricky Martin is livin’ la Vida crime. On Friday, FX announced Martin as the latest name to join the all-star cast of the upcoming Versace: American Crime Story.

The third installment will follow the murder of the fashion icon and designer Gianni Versace. It will debut in 2018 on FX, we’ll have to patiently wait.

Joining the all-star cast

Following the success of American Crime Story: The People vs O.J. Simpson, FX already cast the stars for the third installment and, oh they shine so bright.

Last February, the network announced the first cast to be Edgar Ramirez as Gianni Versace, being his first time working with Ryan Murphy.On the other hand, Glee’s alum Darren Criss has been recruited once again for a Murphy work, this time as serial killer Andrew Cunanan.

There were rumors of Lady Gaga, who previously worked with Murphy in American Horror Story,  playing Donatella Versace in the miniseries. These were put at ease once we learned Penelope Cruz was cast as Donatella Versace.

Then the network announced on Friday the latest cast for the anticipated third season of the popular series. It’s no less that the Grammy winner Ricky Martin as Gianni’s couple Antonio D’Amico.Versace marks’ Ricky second collaboration with Murphy as he previously starred as a Spanish teacher on Glee. Martin has also appeared on Broadway in Evita and Les Miserables.

American Crime Story: Versace

Versace will be the third installment of the FX series, following Katrina that will air also in 2018.

Based on the book Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U.S History by Maureen Orth, the miniseries will follow the murder of the legendary fashion designer Gianni Versace.at the hands of serial killer Cunanan.

The series will explore the murder occurred in 1997 at Gianni’s home in Miami at the hands of serial killer Cunanan, who committed suicide eight days after the murder.

The production is set to begin on the next couple of months and is scheduled to air in 2018.
