An amateur photographer recreated the pictures he’d taken throughout the last decades, and it’s awesome. Chris Porsz is a paramedic and photographer based in Peterborough that used to wander around his hometown portraying people in their everyday life, especially during the 70s, the 80s, and the 90s.
The “paramedic paparazzo,” as Porsz is known, dedicated seven years of his life to tracking down the subjects of his photos. He wanted to recreate the pictures he had taken years before. He put together all the pictures in his new book “Reunions,” and you can check his work on his website and facebook.
Let’s get time traveling!
Buddies eating chips.
Martin Coulson and Andy Randall shared a moment in 1983 after school. Back then, they were eating chips from an arcade.
A few years later.
In the modern picture, they’re eating chips but not from the same place since it was replaced with a Wilko store. The kids are now two married men with a family of their own.
Partners in crime.
These friends were hanging on the steps of the Cathedral Square in Peterborough in the 80s.
Friends for life.
With the years the squad sadly lost a couple of its members. In the picture, we can see Gary Wymer, Mirko Obradovic, Ada Lawrence and Mark Winsworth.
Chris Porsz’s Family.
The picture taken in 1983, shows Chris’ wife Lesley, Simon, Adam, and Emma. The family used to take walks in Central Park in Peterborough.
The family nowadays.
Same pose different season. Now the kids have grown ups and are the proud parents of two children each.
Siblings.
These two siblings quietly sitting in the trolly was captured by Chris in 1982.
Same kind look.
Rose and Stuart still live in Peterborough, now Stuart is a policeman while his sister is a mother. They still gather every now and then.
Playing the flute.
Chris says that Neil used to play the flute outside the Co-op bank, and was a usual character around the city’s center. This picture was taken in 1986.
Neil wandering.
At the time Chris decided to recreate the pictures, Neil was still seen wandering around the city. But by the time Chris’ book went to print, Neil has been missing from the city for a couple of months.
At his first work.
This picture portrays Tasbir Singh in his first work in 1982, where he worked for four years after leaving school.
At his current job.
Now Tasbir works in a different place, but still, lives in the city and is married and has three children.
Kiss goodbye.
When this picture was taken, in 1980, Tony and Sally were in their twenties and Tony worked in Essex so they said goodbye every day in the station and met again in the evening.
Still together.
A year after the picture was taken the couple got married, and now they have two children and live in Lichfield.
Friends…
This trio met at county Grammar School when they studied together. The picture was taken in the early 80s.
Forever.
Sandra, Carmen, and Maureen are still friends today and hang regularly since the three of them still live in Peterborough.
Young punks.
These friends, Pippa, Ade, Gary and John used to listen to punk music together and were really into the movement. The picture was taken in 1970 in the Cathedral Square.
Punks by heart.
They still keep in touch, Gary lives in Australia and Pippa lives in Spain. Gary and Ade still live in Peterborough they have a band and play every now and then.
Punk couple.
Tina and Dog were pictured in 1985 near the Cathedral, which seems to be the center of punk movement of Peterborough. In the 90s the couple went traveling.
Not punk anymore.
Even though the couple has twins, they aren’t together anymore, and none of them live in Peterborough. tina lives in Dorset and Dog in southwest Wales.
