Because what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. This beautiful girl was bullied throughout her life because of her skin color, and now she’s on the road to become a super model.
If someone can relate to being bullied her whole life is 19-year-old Khoudia Diop. This Senegalese girl suffered her entire life, because of the darkness of her skin tone. She says that is something normal in Senegal.
Another thing Khoudia Diop can relate is learning to love herself. Due to all the bullying she experienced, she learned to tune out all the negativity and appreciate herself just the way she is.
She refers to herself as melanin goddess, embracing herself and teaching others about the importance of accepting and loving oneself. She’s over 200k followers on Instagram, where she constantly uploads solo shots with inspirational captions.
Nowadays, Khoudia is an inspiration to every person, as she is an example of self-loving and empowerment. And recently she’s become a thing on the internet since she appeared in The Colored Girl Project.
The Project is looking to show the different aspects of beauty as it pertains to Black Women, so the invitation is to reclaim beauty rather than redefine it, the acknowledgment of it.
Here are some of Khoudia thoughts
Beauty standards have long been telling women what’s wrong with them, instead of encouraging them to accept themselves.
Why wasting your time trying to be someone else, when you can be yourself? Embrace your beauty, and be proud of it.
