Cobie Smulders Latest Show From Netflix ‘Friends From College’ Teaser Is Here

The First Season Counts With 8 Episodes

Last year, Netflix announced that a new comedy called Friends from College would be arriving at the streaming network. Now you can finally watch the first teaser trailer for the show.

The upcoming comedy follows a group of friends that went to Harvard together but took their own paths after graduating. They reunite after Keegan-Michael Key’s character Ethan, and Cobie Smulders’ Lisa moves back to New York. Now, back together, the group is facing down their 40s and dealing how their lives turned out.

The cast includes Fred Savage as coke-snorting Max, Nat Faxon as wealthy Nick, Annie Parisse in the role of Sam, and Jae Suh Park as Marianne, who is following her dream of becoming an actress.

The trailer, released on Monday, shows that they haven’t completely got over their college days, and have still some things to do before getting serious. After doing some drugs, they get “wild” and start dancing with tap shoes on, ruining a whiteboard with permanent marker and throwing pizza at the wall – and the roof – to see how long it lasts there. Eventually, they wake up Felix, a doctor that is also Max’s boyfriend, played by Billy Eichner, who pops out annoyed by the noise.

Neither Lisa nor Marianne show up in the trailer, as well as many of the guest appearances expected for the show, including Seth Rogen. But there is still much material to be seen.

With an impressive cast, the series is already a winner

The show seems infallible: a heavyweight cast – one of the most impressive ever for a Netflix series –, the never disappointing formula of adult friends that don’t want to deal with adulthood, and production under Nicholas Stoller’s eye.

The ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ director co-created, wrote and executive produced the series with his wife Francesca Delbanco. Both of them attended Harvard.

The first season will count on eight half-hour episodes. All directed by Stoller.

On Tuesday, a second teaser for Friends From College was unveiled

On Tuesday morning, Netflix shared another teaser of the series. It features Smulders’ character Lisa, along with Ethan, trying to convince a pharmacy employee to serve them. Even though the store is already closed.

We don’t know much of what is happening, but apparently, it’s urgent for Lisa to get her medicine. She goes nuts trying to get the employee to open the store, as he tells her, “We have no oxi,” referring to the super potent hallucinogenic drug.

Ethan says to him that they are looking for HCG, but the employee won’t still open the store, saying that even if he did, he can’t turn the system on. Desperately, Ethan asks if he can suck his d*ck. Then the trailer cuts to an awkward trip back home in a cab, with Ethan trying to explain Lisa his decision.

Netflix announced that the series will arrive on July 14th.
