Best X-Mas present ever!
After accidentally coming out earlier this year, Dakotah Whitcomb, who identifies as a bisexual, asked her dad for a late Christmas’ gift that turned out to be way more than what she expected.
Christmas is all about love and bringing people together, well, Dakotah received that and way more. She not only received the pride flag she expected, but some really touching words from his dad.
Coming out accidentally.
Earlier this year Dakotah came out to her dad by accident while having lunch in a restaurant. The 20-year-old from Ohio identifies as a bisexual, she came out after flirting with a waitress as her dad noticed the whole situation.
“Yeah, I like girls too. That’s so cool!”
So, her dad says that the waitress was pretty into Dakotah, her brother stated that Dakotah didn’t mind. To what Dakotah gives the best response ever:”Yeah, I like girls too. That’s so cool!” And that’s how she came out of the closet, she was kinda afraid of coming out because she’s daddy’s girl.
Support and love.
The Whitcomb family raised their kids with open acceptance to being gay, in fact, the family has many LGBT family members and friends. Her dad accepted and supported her immediately.
Christmas present.
This year Dakotah asked her dad for a pride flag as Christmas present, she thought she wouldn’t get it because it was pretty much last minute. But her dad is really the king of surprises and not only he got her the flag but gave her even more.
More than just a flag.
The Whitcomb family has long served in the military. Dakotah’s dad was a Marine, her mother was in the Navy and her brother is in the National Guard. So naturally they have many military flags.
Family of flags.
Along with the flag, it came a letter which resulted pretty meaningful and heartwarming for Dakotah. In the letter, her dad promises that Dakotah’s pride flag will fly alongside the family’s military flags. Which was really meaningful for Dakotah who couldn’t join the military due to medical issues.
Dakotah decided to share her beautiful story with the internet.
The tweet has over 243k likes, she received a lot of positivity and love.
