A new face in the highly anticipated adaptation of the popular video game franchise.
After winning an Oscar for her performance as a devoted wife and artist in The Danish Girl, we may have thought that the Swedish actress, dancer, and producer would dedicate her entire career in thoughtful period dramas.
Instead, the star decided to change her path taking the action-heroine route, donning the iconic tank top and cargo pants of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, a role that was originally played by Angelina Joile.

The kind of girl who fits perfectly in the role.
As Lara Croft is a truly iconic, the producer of the film, Graham King, was looking for someone who could be capable of embracing her fierce, determination, and physicality. Alicia was asked to take on Croft’s role since, as King describe it, the actress, “Alicia Vikander brings tremendous depth and vulnerability to the character.”
Some important facts about the film.
During an exclusive interview with Roar Uthaug about his adaptation, the director answered the question that many had on their minds. “How far along are you in filming right now,” the interviewer asked to what Uthaug responded expressing that they were just wrapping up the South African portion of their location shoot and will proceed next to London.
The director also expressed the relevant fact that Tomb Raider, co-starring Dominic West, Walton Goggins, and Daniel Wu, would reach to theaters on March 16, 2018.
