Lena DunhanHas Been Confirmed In AHS’s Next Season!

The News About Dunham Are Making Fans Question The Fate Of The Show.

On Wednesday, Ryan Murphy announced that Lena Dunham is joining the next season of ‘American Horror Story.’ With this new role, Lena would be making a major turn from her HBO series ‘Girls.’

But not everybody loved the news. Twitter reacted trolling Lena and questioning the decision.

A step into a horror direction

‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy and producer took to Twitter on Wednesday to share some casting news. In an exciting tone, Murphy revealed that Lena is joining season seven of the horror show. He didn’t give away many details about her upcoming role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lena would get a one-episode story arc.

But not everybody was happy. Several “AHS” fans expressed their dismay on Twitter, saying, “Why do you keep making it less appealing” and “this is very bad news.”

While Dunham has always been a divisive figure, this reaction raises eyebrows.

Dunham’s quirky onscreen persona should fit right in with ‘AHS’s eclectic mix of styles and characters. The show has never shied away from the weird and the wonderful, and Dunham straddles both descriptions with ease.

Dunham seemed to acknowledge the haters in a tweet later when she referenced “Clueless” by writing, “OMG Internet teens are way harsh, Tai. And also potentially too young to understand ‘way harsh, Tai.'”

Season seven election related?

If Dunham’s upcoming role seems like a big departure for the actress, the theme of season seven of ‘AHS’ might reveal what piqued her interest in the first place.

Earlier this year, Murphy revealed to Bravo host Andy Cohen that he was hoping to tackle the 2016 election in the upcoming season.

“What I’m interested in doing is not just the obvious, single-minded point of view but rather express all sides of that equation,” Murphy later told the Hollywood Reporter in February.

“The first 10 minutes of the season takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there’s something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they’re watching it all go down,” he added.

Previously confirmed co-stars include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Colton Haynes, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Adina Porter and Cheyenne Jackson.

Buzz about season seven has hit a fever pitch ever since Murphy’s “final clue” left many fans scratching their heads Tuesday.

Murphy also tweeted July 10 that the title of ‘AHS’s season seven will be revealed during the Comic-Con.
