Star Wars is one of the most beloved and successful franchises in the world. Not only that but they’ve also taken the internet by storm in the last days. Especially due to the release of various elements, particularly key ones, of the saga. From the poster and trailer of the eighth chapter of the saga, “The Last Jedi”. To a tribute to Carrie Fisher along with a short animated series focusing on the female characters of the franchise with Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.
All of this round up in the Star Wars Celebration, a convention that lasts four days to celebrate the 40 years of the franchise. But now to put a cherry on top the trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II has come out. Displaying amazing graphics and what it seems to be a key link to the story.
Battlefront II is key to the whole galaxy
We walk through the trailer of the game through Iden Versio’s eye, an elite Stormtrooper who leads a special forces unit known as Inferno Squad. As she fights on Endor on episode VI (The Return of the Jedi) she witnesses the second Death Star being blown up. To what she swears to seek revenge against the rebellion and embarks on a 30-years mission of destroying them.
As even EA Sports has stated referring to the story of the game. Since Iden and the Inferno Squad’s story will follow them on their 30-year journey of “revenge, betrayal, and redemption”. As this will provide players not only to visit some new and old characters of the franchise. But also with a really deep campaign mode, something that the previous game desperately lacked off.
Also, and probably one of the keys and most exciting elements of the campaign is the story. Not only because the plot sounds already interesting enough. But also because it will provide a link between “The Return of the Jedi,” and “The Force Awakens”. As many comic book series and Genndy Tartakovsky’s “Clone Wars” did previously.
Along with the story mode, Battlefront II will count with many new and extended features. As they’ve really learned from their previous mistakes and taken consideration of the recommendations. Since they’re is looking to expand its signature multiplayer skirmishes. Including space battles, new weapons and settings. Along with “new” characters from the whole Star Wars universe. As we will now be able to play with new heroes units. Like Luke, Rey, Darth Maul, Yoda, Kylo Ren and hopefully more.
Ready to play
Already the campaign is an improvement to the game’s saga. That, unfortunately, let down many people with their previous edition. But this game promises to lift it up to its old glory. Since the guys from EA have really stepped up. As they’ve hired Walt Williams, who wrote the incredible shooter “Spec Ops: The Line”. They’re also working with EA Motive, a relatively new studio founded by former Assassin’s Creed producer Jade Raymond, that is helping them create an even more incredible game.
Obviously, all of this let us see that the developers of Battlefront II have put an incredible effort into giving us an incredible game with an actual good story. Making our expectations of the game raise higher, especially on the campaign aspect. Also, one of the key things they’re taking off the game is the DLC Season Pass. Even though this might seem like a wrong move for many the Creative Director Bernd Diemer has explained why they’ve done it, and it does sound fair.
