These Candy-Filled Smash Cakes Will Make All Your Piñata Dreams Come True

Let’s Be Honest. Who Doesn’t Love Piñatas?

We all love sweets, and in that love for them, we have created tons of different ways of eating them. Just like piñatas or cakes, especially to celebrate birthdays. As our especial day probably will be incomplete without some sweet treats and these creations.

So since we love so much candy, chocolate and cakes, for their amazing taste, and piñatas for their incredible color and the fun of smashing them, someone has decided to take it to another level. Creating the perfect blend of all these things we love so much.

Sydney Smash Cakes.

The genius behind it is Claudia Abraham, who is a graphic designer from Sydney. She made her first Smash Cake for the 5th birthday of her oldest daughter. Since then they’ve been a success and she has been doing them for almost every birthday party of her three kids. However, after a while, the kids didn’t want the same Smash Cake year after year.

So Claudia had to get creative: “The artist in me needed to create something more exciting, and I started using my creativity to create and extend new and exciting Smash Cakes. I was also often asked to make Smash Cakes for my friend’s kids birthdays and that is how Smash Cakes evolved into a business.” Abraham said.

 Cakeñata.

The Smash cakes are the baby and perfect mix between a piñata and a tasty cake. As Claudia creates her smash cakes with a chocolate shell and filled with tons of candy that’ll spill out when you smash it open. Feeding everyone’s appetite for destruction.

Also, the cakes are a feast for the eyes as Claudia uses her graphic designer abilities to create some of the most beautiful cakes we have ever seen. To the point, they’re almost too pretty to be eaten.

The cost of beauty.

But as it generally happens beauty has a cost, especially when it concerns time. As she can spend up from two to six hours on each cake depending on the design. “The biggest challenge I face on a regular basis is the weather. If it’s too hot and/or humid, it’s a nightmare to work with chocolate,” Abraham said.

Ironically all of this ends up being smashed and splattered around, but it’s surely fun to do or watch. As the videos of people smashing Claudia’s cakes have become extremely popular. Also, their cakes are mostly made make for adults now.
