The upcoming “Pirates of the Caribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” is set to be one of the biggest of the already huge franchise. Including new characters, and epic actors, along with the continuity of the amazing story. But between these newcomers, there is one that caught many of us by surprise, Paul McCartney. As it seems the former Beatle will be appearing on the fifth installment of the saga, he recently revealed.
Even though McCartney’s appearance is something huge, due to the movie franchise and his musical trajectory. He isn’t the first high-profile musician that appears in the saga. Since The Rolling Stone’s guitarist, Keith Richards joined the production for the third movie, “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”. Appearing as Jack Sparrow’s father, Captain Teague. Giving it an ironical twist since Johnny Depp has always said that he based Jack Sparrow partly on Richards.
From the stage to the ship
The Beatles star Paul McCartney has confirmed that he will feature in the upcoming Disney film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”. As he took social media on Saturday, to post a picture of his character. Showing him in full pirate make-up, making him practically unrecognizable. The 74-year-old musician tweeted along with the poster a caption saying #PiratesLife.
The participation of the awarded Beatle was confirmed by Disney. Along with the corroboration of the news, they also shared the star’s post on the film’s official social media pages. Despite that, McCartney hasn’t officially spoken about it, we can only speculate about his role and its relevance. Since we don’t know if it’s simply a cameo or if he plays a bit larger role that could make it to another movie. Even though IMDb credits the Beatle’s role as Jail Guard 2.

Backing vocals
On the upcoming movie, we will have many exciting features. Since Jack will find new allies as he escapes and looks to defeat a Spanish pirate Armando Salazar. While looking the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that will surely be key to defeat Salazar. Also, we get to see back Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan, who missed out the fourth film of the franchise. Letting us know also the fate of Will since he seems to be cursed on the trailer.
The movie will be directed by the Norwegian duo, Joachim Ronning, and Espen Sandberg. Being this their big Hollywood debut. With a script made by producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who has been present on all the installments of the saga. The cast will count with its classic Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Keira Knightley. But will be also introducing some newcomers to the franchise like Javier Bardem and Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario. The film will be released in the U.S. and U.K. on May 26th.
