Ned Flanders Goes Metal With This Themed Band’s New Single

nspired by The Simpsons obnoxious, giddy, clean-living and Christian fanatic neighbour despised by Homer

Have you ever thought listening Ned Flanders singing edgy scream metal? Well if you ever wondered about the idea a Phoenix, Arizona based band named Okilly Dokilly are making it true.

Inspired by The Simpsons obnoxious, giddy, clean-living and Christian fanatic character despised by Homer. These guys have decided to create the whole concept of the band around the Flanders. So not the most metal or hardcore guy you might think about, especially if you have watched the TV hit show.

So keeping that in mind, they have taken it to another level. All the 5 band members dress in the same attire as Ned Flanders does, and they even have the moustaches.

They’ve even called themselves in a very Ramone’s way Head Ned (vocals, screams, guitars, bass, mandolin, percussion), Red Ned (synth, vocals), Stead Ned (guitars), Thread Ned (bass), and Bled Ned (drums).

Their debut album, very appropriately called, Howdilly Doodilly released November 11th and 75% of the lyrical content are direct Flanders quotes and the other 25% from other Simpson’s characters; and you can see it with songs titles like “Flanderdoodles,” “Donut Hell,” and “Godspeed Little Doodle,” you can be assured that it has a swell Flanders dandy vibe.

The leading single is called White Wine Spritzer, the video above, referring to “Viva Ned Flanders” episode and due to the nature and use of the drink. The video features them doing some edgy not very Flanders things; like destroying the room, instruments or simply playing metal or as they call it “Nedal”.
