‘Moana’ Is Out Now And It’s The Perfect Movie For Some Family Time

You’ll End Up In A Sing-Along Kind Of Mood

Disney has always been one of the best animation companies. They’ve formed part of everybody’s childhood, and childish adulthood. The stories and the way they tell it have something really magical in it. Besides their signature animation style reflected in their characters is incredible. And year after year they come with improvements in all the areas. We anxiously waited for the premiere of Moana and it’s finally here. In this occasion, they’ve taken the myths, aesthetic, magic and music of the Maori or Polynesian culture.

The crew of Disney really did their homework.

They include several Pacific Islanders in the making of the movie. From elders as cultural consultants to the voice casting. Since the voices of newcomer and islander Aulii Cravalho will be Moana and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a descendant of Samoans, voices Maui the trickster demigod from Polynesian mythology.

As well one of the aspects you will not take your eyes away.

Would be the detail and majestic of the animation. Just look how well done is the water created in the trailer. And the details in the characters is admirable. Or simply admire how the animals, plants and random objects have been animated.

Another thing is the music.

The classic way for a Disney movie to take you on the emotional rollercoaster is in charge of Mark Mancina and Lin-Manuel Miranda, a Broadway and Hollywood renowned composers, and Opetaia Foa’i, the New Zealand-based Pacific music singer-songwriter. So get ready to hear the kids singing the catchy tunes for months.

It has the classical Disney successful movie formula.

On the other hand, Moana presents herself as not a Disney Princess. But deep down we all know she is. She has the looks, the animal sidekick and she sings the songs. But despite that and the classic “Chosen one” elements, it’s gonna be one of the best and maybe most heartwarming Disney movies since Frozen.
