Foo Fighter’s Cancels Tour Dates For Family Emergency

They Also Extended Their ‘Concrete And Gold’ Tour

The Foo Fighters canceled tour dates earlier this week due to a “family emergency.” The band took to social media to announce the news as well as the rescheduling of the dates.

The Foos recently released a new song, ‘Soldier’ in support for Planned Parenthood. They also announced the extension of their ‘Concrete and Gold’ tour into 2018.

Canceled shows

The Foo Fighters announced on Sunday that they would postpone several concerts this week because of a “family emergency.”

The band canceled shows in Lexington, Kentucky, Nashville and Memphis, which marked the eighth, ninth, and tenth dates of the ‘Concrete and Gold’ tour.

“Foo Fighters apologize for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing fans at the new dates,” the statement read.

The shows were rescheduled to May dates according to the statement. In case fans are unable to attend the new dates, refunds will be available.

The Foos released their ninth studio album ‘Concrete and Gold‘ on Sept 15. They embarked on a world tour in support of the album that began in June 2017 in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Along the way, the band has scheduled two nights in July at New York’s Madison Square Garden as well as a pair of gigs at Boston’s Fenway Park on July 21st and 22nd.

They are still set to play 17 more North American dates through December.

After a well-deserved break for the holidays, the group will head to Australia, New Zealand, and South America during the first few months of 2018.

More dates and new song

The Foo Fighters announced new spring and summer dates, meaning that they will extend their tour in support of ‘Concrete and Gold’ into 2018.

The spring leg of the ‘Concrete and Gold’ tour will kick off April 18th in Austin, Texas and hits amphitheaters along the southern half of the U.S. to wrap up on May 3rd in Memphis, Tennessee.

Then, two months later, the three-week summer leg concentrating on the Northeast will begin on July 7th in Philadelphia and wrap up July 29th with a concert at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.

Along with new dates, the band released a new song just for the right reasons.

The Foos released a new song, ‘Soldier,’ in support of 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood, a benefit compilation for the sexual health care nonprofit organization.

The compilation includes features songs from celebrities such as Bon Iver, John Legend, St. Vincent, and CHVRCHES. The set came out digitally on October 20.
