Every year we seem to be more open minded about our image. This year was all about crazy trends, it was the time to experiment with the way we look. Although some people took it a little bit further.
I think 2016 was mainly about hair, we saw literally tons of hairstyle trends, dyeing your hair, cutting it or both of them in order to create awesome things. But that’s not it, beauty didn’t come down just to our faces and hair, now we can see beauty trends for the rest of our bodies.
Take a look at these weird trends that made 2016 the craziest year so far:
15. One word: highlight.
This year we were obsessing over highlighters. Too much wasn’t enough, literally, we lost our heads with it.
14. Another word: highlighters.
If we are applying 100 layers of it, we need to get some good ones. There are plenty of highlighters out there that speak to our souls, like pizza highlighters… I know, that was my pick as well.
13. Rainbows everywhere.
I love rainbows so I was really into it. There are rainbow hairstyles, eyeshadows, highlighters and everything you could ask for.
12. Galaxy inspired makeup.
If there is anything I like more than rainbows, is galaxies. If you are into the astrological thing just as I am, then you could figure out that I like them because I’m an Aquarius and I really believe this was our year because everyone was really into it as well.
11. Hidden looks under your hair.
Just when you think someone is taking it easy about their hair, they put on a ponytail and some edgy look comes out of it.
10. These weird and uncomfortable hacks for curly hair.
Straight hair doesn’t always look good, sometimes you need a little bit of curls, so in order to do it, you roll up a bunch of crazy things in your hair, like balloons or even tampons.
9. Adding whatever comes in mind to your nails.
A little bit of glitter, yes, another layer of a different color, yes, fur ok, a scorpion, okay let’s stop here, this is getting very strange.
8. Applying nail polish got easier.
I have to admit I suck at this, as many girls do. Nail polish makers get this and came out with polish in spray, simple effective and you can get it in silver which is my favorite color.
7. Snapchat filters inspired makeup.
Ok, this was a trend on Halloween but we loved it. I the only time of the year I can go out puking rainbows and people won’t say anything.
6. Genitals shaped makeup.
Guess where… Bingo! Your highlighter. When illuminating your face suddenly got really kinky?
5. Taking care of your boobs isn’t a bad idea.
Now we have boob sheet masks and I’m very curious about it actually.
4. Glow in the dark style.
Ombre got too boring, and what could be better than having a shiny look when under a purple light?
3. Different color eyebrows.
Back in the days, it was totally crazy to have dark brows when you were blonde, now it’s too boring to have a regular color in your eyebrows.
2. Super fun freckles.
Lindsay Lohan is regretting getting rid of hers, because now they are on trend, as long as you draw them in bright colors.
1. Gold leaf shadow.
If I’ve had the money I would be super into this trend. Like I love everything that shines but this went way further.
