The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is one of the greatest achievements any musician can receive. Since an epic trajectory is a requirement. Being that one of the reasons why Pearl Jam is one of the inducted bands of this year’s edition. As no one doubts of the impressive revolution, the Seattle powerhouse band was part of.
Along with that one of this years edition’s most exciting features is its incredible celebrity presenters to the nominees. But now there is a new star, the retired Late Show host David Letterman. Who will replace Neil Young on the ceremony, the original Pearl Jam inductor, as he will miss the ceremony due to an illness.

“Due to illness, Neil Young is regrettably no longer able to induce Pearl Jam at this Year’s Induction Ceremony, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is thrilled that David Letterman has agreed to induct Pearl Jam this Friday night at the 32nd Annual Induction Ceremony.” As the ” the Rock Hall released an official statement on Wednesday.
David Letterman joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 7th. Joining the likes of other famous presenters like Jackson Browne, Dhani Harrison, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Pat Monahan, Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams.

Letterman’s Jam
Also, it’s not the first time Letterman will share with the guys from Pearl Jam. Since he has had them on his show seven times during 1996 to 2006. As the band became one of Letterman’s favorites. Pearl Jam’s first presentation on the show occurred in September 1996 with a run-through of No Code’s “Hail Hail.”
In the various presentations Pearl Jam did on the Late Show, they even played an hour long 10-song setlist on the show. Also, in 2015, lead singer Eddie Vedder appeared alone to sing “Better Man.” “This is a big thrill for me,” Letterman said to the band after finally recruiting them to appear on the show for the first time.
To become a rockstar
For all those who couldn’t assist the ceremony on April 7th, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will air on HBO April 29th at 8 p.m. While a special exhibit dedicated to the 2017 new members opened at the Rock Hall in Cleveland on March 31st.
As to be eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an artist must have released their first single or album at least 25 years prior to their nomination. So in the case of Pearl Jam, and Tupac, it takes back to 1991. Also, is good to see Letterman and Pearl Jam have kept a good relationship after all these years.
