Sometimes sequels or follow up movies aren’t so great. But despite that skeptic judgment, we can also look for new things the creators have done. And how it will affect our favorite sagas.
That is the case of Despicable Me, who’s adorable and lovely characters have entertained us for the past few years. They have made us all enjoy with their dorky sense of humor, especially minions. Something that the little yellow guys can back up pretty well with over $1.159 billion worldwide and 11th highest-grossing film of all time.
Despicable Me 3 is here.
So trying to make us laugh a little bit more, and making a couple more of million thousand bucks, Illumination Entretainment has brought us the third episode of this saga. The movie will be released in U.S.A. on June 30, 2017, with the worldwide premiere yet to be set.
They’re back.
Gru, Lucy (or Grucy as the power couple is now known), the girls and the minions are back. In their new adventure, we see Gru teaming up with the Anti-Villain League and fighting a new nemesis. All of this with his wife Lucy. And keeping his “bad” attitude and way of being, that we all love.
The 80’s are back to?
Introducing the new villain that will be the antagonist of Gru and the Anti-Villain League will be Balthazar Bratt. An 80’s obsessed guy that dances and dresses like Michel Jackson, has a mullet and uses Rubik’s bombs. The “I’m bad-guy” will be voiced by Trey Parker co-creator of South Park, who has experience giving live to animated characters as he is the voice of Eric Cartman and Stan Marsh. A real supervillain, not only for his cynic nature but as well for his language if you’re a parent.
Thrille(r)d movie night.
In the trailer we don’t only see the introducing of Gru as a “good guy” and the introduction of the new bad guy who seems to rather a dance-fight than an actual one (making all the Jackson moves and sounds). We also see the minions partying pretty hard, in a Spring Break style. But also we notice the absence of the girls so we are left with the wonder of what role they will play in the movie.
So we will just have to wait to see what is going to happen in the new Despicable Me movie. The only thing that is for sure is that we are going to laugh.
