Ever since its foundation, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been one of the most hyped festivals for indie and alternative performers. It made a perfect match with the more-than-indie audience –hipsters if you wish. Because of the nature of these festivalgoers and their inherent relationship with fashion and style, the festival has mutated throughout the years to one of the most important fashion venues of the summer. As you may have seen in your Instagram feed, or basically any social media existent, Coachella 2017 was not the exception.
The festival, held in the Colorado Desert, in Indio, California, kicked off on Friday 14. On its first weekend, we could enjoy some amazing performances of artists such as Lady Gaga, troubled Radiohead, Father John Misty, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, and much more, and also, the most unique, stylish, and even eccentric at times, outfits.
Cutoffs, bikini tops, glitter and a lot of see-through
This year people made their statement pretty clear: summer has arrived. The everlasting bohemian style peacefully coexisted with the glittery-neon-holographic outfits. Everything became possible. So many outfits included bikini tops, and why not, matching bikini bottoms, with a pair of boots, just to make it casual, while others just kept it simple with classic crop tops or see-through garments. Celebrities did not miss the chance to show off
As usual, your favorite celebrities showed up at Coachella to enjoy the music, the sun, and the company. Rihanna made it to the fest wearing head-to-toe Gucci, distributed in an all-over crystal embroidered mesh top, matching all-over crystal embroidered mesh leggings, a white jersey tank top and bleach washed denim hot pants, achieving a total of $8,480.
Kylie Jenner set a new trend, with her “highlighter hair”, while lovebirds Selena Gomez and The Weeknd kept it simple with a flower dress and a denim outfit, respectively.
