This Squirrels Steals Chocolate Bars From This Convenience Store

Animals, in general, are awesome. And each one of them has their particular thing that makes them incredible. Squirrels are a very special case. Not only because they are incredibly cute but also intriguing, crazy and funny.

In that intriguing and crazy way, they do all kind of things that we find mesmerizing. This is something that cartoons and pop culture have cemented even more in our minds. And now they’ve done a new mischief to prove that all those stereotypes we have about them might be totally accurate.

Candy shop.

This is Luke’s Grocery, a convenience store in Toronto owned by the Kim family. And as you can see in their add they have a special love for chocolate.

Nutty problem.

The problem started about five years ago. When the couple, Juliet and Paul Kim, owners of the convenience store discovered that something was wrong. As their daughter, Cindy told BuzzFeed Canada. “Basically, my parents sort of suspected something was happening because we’d hear a rustling where the chocolate bars are.”

The criminal.

The Kims finally discovered who was guilty. “They started investigating more and they realized it was a squirrel getting away with different kinds of chocolate bars.” her daughter said. This happens since they tend to leave the shop’s front door open. Since it gets super hot and humid in the store, and they don’t have air conditioning due to the costs.

The treasure.

Paul Kim says he estimates they’ve lost at least 40 chocolate bars to the squirrels. “They’re so fast we can hardly catch them, we don’t even know when they’re there most of the time,” said Cindy. Looking for a way to solve the problem Cindy posted the situation on Reddit. “The most popular ones have been “why don’t you get a dog or cat, why don’t you get a screen door.” she has said. Even though they do have a dog but he prefers to lay in the back. Renovations cost too much for the family.

Popular on social media.

“They are good suggestions in a sense, but I don’t think we’ve found the perfect [solution]. We’ll try a couple.” The internet has not brought a solution yet but the squirrels have become popular online. So the family has created a YouTube channel, a Facebook page, and a Twitter account for them, they still expect that someone gets them the perfect solution for their rodent problem. But instead, the squirrels have gotten a hardcore fan base that cheers for them.
