The well-known drama that accompanies Kanye West everywhere used to affect only the music industry where we expected his scathing speeches but since his launch as a designer, he has also conditioned his audiences to anticipate drama. Giving everyone much to talk about and not precisely in a good sense but things seem to be changing.
The designer announced that his new collection done in collaboration with Adidas, Yeezy Season 5, would be showed during New York Fashion Week on Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. at Pier 59 Studios, the same time slot Marchesa had already booked.
West did it again
One might think the designer learned the lesson but apparently, he didn’t. The conflict began when West expressed that he had chosen a time slot between Anna Sui and Thom Browne, a time slot that had already been booked by Marchesa.
The president and chief executive officer of the CFDA, argued that once again the designer had not consulted about the possibility to schedule the Yeezy Season 5 show on the official New York Fashion Week.

Sort of a drama free show
Kanye West rescheduled his show two hours earlier than planned, it started at 3:23 pm, despite the CFDA’s announcement, plenty of editors, buyers, and influencers showed up anyway. The studio had a large rectangular pillar in the center that lit up to show four screens, which aired each model’s look in a 360-degree view, while over the speakers, The Dream sang a demo version/interpretation of J. Holiday’s “Bed.”
The attendees waited and were surprised when they realized the designer would not make an appearance after the models walked their final runway, so eventually, the show got a round of applause and that was it.
Everything turned out fine
Things might be changing for the designer in the fashion world since CDFA declared “the show and its collection of highly wearable clothing was a quiet, promising step forward for West”.
