Julia Fox has revealed that she was upfront about the relationship that existed between her and rapper Drake with Kanye West. She said she and Drake did not date or have any “secret romance” as speculated in the media, and that the rapper was only a great friend during their closeness in 2020.
“He’s a great guy and a gentleman and that was it,” Fox said. “Nothing really happened. We were just, like, friends hanging out….Yeah, like I wouldn’t say that we were dating. Obviously, when I first started speaking to Ye, like on the phone, I told him, like, immediately, as I think on the first day before it went any further because I’m just an honest person, I guess.”
Fox said she told West, also known as Ye, about her closeness to Drake in the past because she was aware that the two dissed each other previously. She stated that she believes West and Drake have buried their differences and that the two rappers are good together now. She made the point that any closeness or relationship she had with Drake was not romantic and that “that was fully 2020, like two years ago.”
The Uncut Gems star said she often expects West to disappoint her – given that “I’m so used to being fu—ked over in relationships” but it has not happened yet. She said West also “makes very grandiose promises” and keeps them all in good time. She noted that one of the things she likes best about the estranged husband of Kim Kardashian is that he is always an achiever.
“What’s really exciting about him is that, like, any idea can become a reality,” Fox added. “Anything is possible. Any dream is possible. And I love that. And he’s just such a doer. He’s like, ‘Do it now,’ you know? Like, ‘Don’t wait.'”
An insider said West, 44, and Fox are very inseparable and that the rapper likes her vibes so much. On her recent 32nd birthday, the rapper even bought a Birkin bag for Fox even though she stocked a hotel suite with clothes a few days after they first met.
“Kanye is really into Julia, and they have been inseparable recently,” the source said. “When they are not together in person, they are communicating all day. He is really enjoying her company and likes her spirit. Kanye thinks Julia brings out his creativity and loves having her around. He has expressed he loves her vibe.”
