This Giant Ball Pit ‘Beach’ Is For Grown Ups And People Are Loving It

And So Are We

To break through in art you must do something really impressive. And even more nowadays, since the internet has opened the door the “everyone’s creativity.” Just look at videos like “marshmallow people,” “salad fingers” or “don’t hug me I’m scared” and you will understand.

But an art collective from New York called Snarkitecture created a piece titled “The Beach.” And it has broken down the internet. The art-piece has already been displayed in the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. and in the Amelie Arena in Florida.

The Beach.

It recreates a seaside, only that the ocean is made up of 1.1 million white plastic balls. It’s not only an amazing idea but also has taken out everyone’s inner child. It’s currently being displayed in Australia as part of the Sydney Festival.

Floating around.

Not only looks like a piece of a sci-fi movie, with the all white theme. Also, it looks clean, pure and lights. As many of the persons that have decided to take a swim in the sea of plastic balls have simply chosen to relax and float at this new “white heavenly” beach.

The art inside the art.

Many persons have decided to use this incredible setup to create some art of their own. It goes from really professional pictures to goofy slow motions.

Social media.

The internet would’ve never been impressed with this without the countless amounts of selfies people have posted playing around in the art-piece. Hundreds posted their pictures of having an amazing time. And really appreciating the opportunity to play and be like kids again.

Not everything was fun and games.

Art has always had the duality of being loved by some and hated by others. As many didn’t enjoy the fact that 1.1 million white balls were created to do this. Due to the incredibly hard and difficult process, it takes to recycle and produce plastic, resulting in more pollution. Maybe the artist’s wanted to critique the fact that our nature has become plastic?
