Bill Gates Annual Letter talked about poverty; Gates took the time to debunk three poverty myths.
1. Poor countries are doomed to stay poor.
2. Saving lives leads to overpopulation.
3. Foreign aids are a big waste.
Gates talked about all the solutions he and his foundation have come up with to help change these myths and to help poor people and third world countries. He says one of the most important things to invest in is the aid.
He also talks about solving poor countries problem; he says the are a few key factors to help develop a country, the first one being health (vaccines, food) then education and agriculture, that helps people go from poverty to middle income.
Gates explained how developed countries could make a difference with aid. He explains that historically, USA has given a lot of money to other countries but never really tracked the money and how it was used in the first place. He also puts as an example how HIV drugs. Because they are available they have been helping a lot of people who have otherwise died.
