These Are Shots Of The Chinese New Year, All Taken With Phones

This Is Really Something

The Chinese New Year is here, and it might seem that he is a bit late but it isn’t. As the Chinese New Year works different, as they work with 2 different calendars: The solar and the lunar calendar. The lunar calendar has 12 or 13 months and starts on the Chinese New Year. Being the main reason why this calendar is the most used by Chinese to set the start of the zodiac year. This usually happens somewhere around January 21 and February 20.

The year of the rooster is here, that comes after the monkey and before the dog. So to celebrate the New Year we have gathered some photos of the Chinese New Year taken by professionals. The amazing pictures of the festivities are taken with their phones.

The rooster year is here.

This photograph was taken by Aik Beng Chia and it’s perfect. As the traditional festivities in China tend to dazzle us with their impressive and vibrant colors. This pair of vibrant red and yellow roosters do their job.

This year is a Fire Rooster year. According to the beliefs of the Chinese Zodiac, the people that are born in the year of the Rooster are very observant, hardworking, resourceful, courageous, and talented. But the element of fire adds certain traits too. So the roosters born in this year will be also trustworthy, with a strong sense responsibility and timekeeping, especially at work.

Preparing for the new year.

This picture of the Taiwanese photographer Little Su is totally relatable. Since we all have seen our grandmas cook for any especial date of the year. Also, this is pretty cool and a reminder as the Chinese Zodiac spread through the whole continent of Asia.

Also, Roosters are very active, amusing and popular with the crowds. A total showman, so from time to time they like to be the center of attention. Since they’re usually charismatic, attractive, outspoken, frank, open, honest, and loyal individuals.

Adding the final touches.

Not only the food plays a fundamental role at a New Year’s celebration. Also, the ornaments do, as the photograph of Chongqing Zhang Yu shows us. Again, with the vibrant red color characteristic of China and many other countries of the Asian continent.

Ironically the red is belief to be a bad luck color for Roosters, but the yellow is supposed to mean good luck. So it’s a balance. As well between the lucky things for Roosters are numbers 5, 7 and 8, the colors gold, brown and yellow and their lucky direction south and southeast.

The food.

One of the most enjoyable things of any kind of festivity is the food. Truly one of the best things about them, and this plate look’s delicious. Again a colorful but appetizing look, perfectly portrait by Gloria Chung.

The Roosters are very confident persons as well they love socializing. Not only due to their charismatic personality and loving being the center of attention. But as well because they love to be listened to, so from time to time they can be considered to be vain or self-centered.

Enjoying the festivities.

Finally, there is time to enjoy the New Year. With all the tasty food and the colorful celebrations. The most impressive of all of this photos are their color and the fact that they were all taken by phones’ cameras. Truly they all have an artistic eye.

Despite the fact that the Chinese believe that people that live through a year of their zodiac animal are an unlucky year. Generally, people born in a year of the Rooster are typically healthy and active people, who love exercise and to live well. Even though it might be a hard year for them, we are sure they will do fine.
