Singer Nicki Minaj has revealed the full photo and video of her baby son. The baby, whom everyone on social media has termed as cute, was born on September 30. While the name of the baby remains a mystery, Minaj publicly calls him “Papa Bear” on social media. The newborn is Minaj’s first baby with husband Kenneth Petty whom she married in 2019.
In an Instagram post, Minaj thanked her baby for coming through her and confessed that nursing a baby is strenuous and fulfilling at the same time. She appreciated all women and pregnant ones for the challenging role of birthing and raising a child.
“Thank you so very much for choosing me to be your mama,” Minaj wrote. “Wishing you guys a happy & prosperous New Year. Thank you for your love & support throughout this journey. It’s meant so much to me. Becoming a mom is by far the most fulfilling job I’ve ever taken on. Sending love to all the superhero mothers out there. Big hugs to all the women who have been pregnant during this challenging time.”
Since the baby’s birth in September, Minaj has only posted a snapshot of her baby’s foot and an audio file of the baby’s sounds. In the audio message, she urged her son to say something to her fans, prompting him to utter meaningful sounds.
“Say hi to the Barbz, papa bear,” Minaj urged her son. “Whatcha doin’? Say somethin’! Aww, you said hi to the Barbz? Good boy, good boy!”
On December 30, Minaj revealed that she gave birth naturally and labored for 2 ½ hours because the epidural did not wear off in time for her to feel herself pushing. “Once I was able to feel the pain, I pushed him out,” she said. She also reported that breastfeeding is painful and that her baby latched easily to suck.
“He had no problem breastfeeding,” she revealed. “He latched on in the hospital which was very surprising to me. I was afraid maybe he wouldn’t. But breastfeeding is very painful. Pumping is too. Women make this stuff look way too easy. Moms are really superheroes.”
