Kanye West’s new song “City of Gods” featuring Fivio Foreign and Alicia Keys takes a hit at Pete Davidson for dating estranged wife Kim Kardashian. The lyrics of the song at about 3:03 minutes of the track find Kanye saying buying the Chicago Bulls should not be too costly, and that Kim’s new beau should thank him if he allowed him to have his wife, Buzzfeed reports.
While Kanye mentioned Michael Jordan and Drake among others in the song which dropped on Friday morning, he specifically took time to say that he is also sending 100 goons to the Saturday Night Live venue where Davidson does his programs.
“Never too big of a price…” Kanye raps. “After I buy the Chicago Bulls, I’ma go link with Mike…and if I let ‘em have my wife, n***** should thank me. With this Balenciaga and Balenci’ boots and a new blue Yankee. This afternoon a hundred goons pullin’ up to SNL. When I pull up, it’s dead on arrival. They act as they love you, they don’t even like you…”
Last year in the song Eazy with The Game, Kanye rapped that he would “beat his a**” in a direct reference to Davidson, 28, who started dating Kim, 41, in October 2021 several months after the Skims founder initiated legal action to divorce her husband. Kanye, 44, made it obvious that he is very jealous of his estranged wife when he rapped that “God saved me from that crash just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass”.
Although Kim has stated in interviews that Kanye had become very dominating and unrespectful since she left him, she made it clear that she is the major breadwinner and carer for their four children. She said she is always so hurt by Kanye’s public rants, but she tries her best to paint him good to his children despite the turmoil his rants are causing her.
“You could be so hurt or angry at your ex, but I think in front of the kids, it always has to be ‘Your dad’s the best,’ she said. “Make sure you are your co-parent’s biggest cheerleader, no matter what you’re personally going through.”
An insider said Davidson is not bothered by all the negative vibes Kanye puts out there for dating Kim and that he finds it funny and motivating.
“Pete is focusing on his relationship with Kim and making sure she feels supported; the rest is just noise,” the source said. “Pete thinks it’s totally hilarious. Not just that, he thinks the whole [drama] is hilarious. He loves it.”
But following the release of City of Gods, many followers condemn Kanye for his possessive tendencies over Kim and for even treating her like an object before and after their split. A lot of Twitter and Instagram followers also recall that he treated Amber Rose the same way when they split in 2010 and that Kanye is only manipulating the situation to get Kim back to him again.
