If you’re a soccer fan, especially from the English Premier League, you will know that Sunderland, with all the respect, isn’t a great team. It might have some honors and trophies in their history but their present isn’t very bright.
Despite the football quality, that hasn’t shined in the Stadium of Light since they sit on the last places of the table. Sunderland has had a different kind of things to be proud about for and that is a 5-year-old fan named Bradley Loweys.
Bradley’s condition.
Sadly Bradley has cancer. At such a young age it’s obviously hard. Besides, he has Neuroblastoma. Something he was diagnosed and has battled with since he was 2. He was successfully beating his illness but in July 2016, Bradley relapsed.
The go fund campaign.
Despite tons of generous donations, the type of cancer Bradley has is not treated in England so he went to the US to get the treatment. But sadly the treatment received in America wasn’t enough to save his life since the tumor has grown.

Pacey passion.
Due to the tragic news, poor Bradley has few months left to live, he has only asked for Christmas to receive cards. The world has done their part as he has received more than 85.000. But as a Sunderland fan, the club have taken a real classy gesture with him.
Bradley Lowery has now received an astonishing 85,000+ Christmas cards. Amazing.
Merry Christmas. 😊❤️ pic.twitter.com/vNF612LuM1

A black cat.
Bradley was the central figure in the Sunderland vs Chelsea match. As he appeared as Sunderland’s mascot, walking with striker Jermain Defoe one of the team’s best players. He also got an official signed shirt of the team and he received a heartwarming tribute during the fifth minute of the game. He was also able to score a goal for his team as he converted a penalty past Asmir Begovic (Sunderland’s goalkeeper).

Dear frenemies.
The story and initiative for Bradley have taken the world by storm. And even he has been getting support from rival teams. Even Watford captain Troy Deeney wrote a card to support Bradley Lowery.
