Angelina Jolie Spoke About Her Divorce From Brad Pitt For The First Time

Last September the whole world was shocked when Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from hubby Brad Pitt. It was rumored that the actor lunged at Maddox when he tried to verbally defend his mother during a mid-air argument that led her to file for divorce five days later.

The only news we heard were from Robert Offer, who said in a statement that “she would not be commenting, and she asked that the family would be given its privacy at the time.”

The kids first

At that moment, Pitt expressed “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

The decision of Argentina’s divorce was made for the health of the family and she has been distant from the public eye since that. We only had the opportunity to spot her while she was fighting for the divorce and the custody of their six children in court.

Her awakening

The news came out when the actress was speaking exclusively to the BBC before the screening of ‘First They Killed My Father’, a true-life account that Angelina said she hoped would help Cambodians to speak more openly about the trauma of the horrible period they went through.

The actress adopted her oldest son, Maddox, after her first visit to Cambodia for the filming of 2001 hit Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Clarifying the issue

During the interview with BBC World, on February 2017, Angelina was asked whether she wanted to say anything about the “incident” that led to the separation.

Jolie finally spoke about the issue, the actress seemed visibly emotional as she revealed that the split had been a “difficult time”, but she was hoping the family will move forward “closer and stronger”.
