Animated movies are one of the best things in life. They make us feel like children again and for the kids well it’s simply awesome. They present us cartoony characters with exaggerated features, animals that can talk and so on. Now Illumination Entertainment, the company that created Despicable Me, is bringing us a new movie called Sing! And they’ve done an amazing maneuver to promote the film.
The movie shows us a pretty regular world but habited by humanized animals. In the film we see as Buster Moon, a koala played by Matthew McConaughey, who runs a once great theater seeks how to return to its former glory and get over the hard times. To do so he decides to hold a singing competition. The movie will premiere on December 21st.
The promotional single.
The thing the guys from Illumination Entertainment have done to promote the movie is really cool. They created an event full of stars to sing in it, and decided to call it “A Holiday Remix: Live on YouTube.” Seems to fit perfectly with what the movie seems to be. The event was hosted by YouTubers Keith Habersberger, from The Try Guys’, and Tiffany Smith.

The collaboration.
The event/concert counted with the participation of Mike Tompkins, Karmin, UsTheDuo, Chloe x Halle, KRNFX, Peter Hollens, Harper Still, Kina Grannis and Leroy Sanchez. And it is the latest promotional partnership between YouTube and Illumination Entertainment, something that has been going through some years now. As the entire show was streamed by the website.
The show.
The concert didn’t only feature various artist but as well several twists in some popular songs. As well the fans had the opportunity to star in a Sing-like music video. In collaboration with Ariana Grande and YouTube star Mike Tompkins.
The content.
The filmed content will be on YouTube during December on the talent’s own channels and a playlist on YouTube. And it will probably be pretty cool since it has the studio house and YouTube’s support.
The movie.
But since this is all about Sing we couldn’t leave without dropping you the trailer of the movie. And it does look pretty awesome, especially the characters.
