Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson and comedian Colin Jost tied the knot over the weekend in a private ceremony with close friends and family members.
It was “Wheels on Wheels America” who first broke the news of the couple’s marriage on Instagram, announcing that the CDC guidelines on COVID-19 safety protocols were observed amidst the rising case of coronavirus infections in the United States, US Magazine writes.
“We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and loved ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC,” the Instagram post read. “Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica. The actress and the “Saturday Night Live” writer and comedian first got engaged in May 2019 after first hooking up in 2017. They first met each other on the show a decade ago; however, their paths would cross again when Johansson made a guest appearance on the 2017 season finale of ‘SNL.’
The highest-paid actress in the world 2019, according to Forbes, was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011, and French Journalist Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017, with whom she has a daughter, Rose, 6.
Johansson had gushed over the comedian in December 2019, when she hosted ‘Saturday Night Live.’ She had told the audience just how much the set of the comedy TV show meant to her, having first met Jost on the show.
In the July episode of the Howard Stern show, Jost had confessed about how much he feared being under the shadow of the widely-recognized Johansson. He said he didn’t want to be known only as of the Black Widow star’s boyfriend. However, that worry seems to have been relegated to the background, with Jost deciding to take his relationship with the actress to the next level.
No one saw the couple’s recent marital engagement coming, as the pair was always tight-lipped about the whole affair.
