Neil deGrasse Tyson the champion of science, or as most of you probably know him, the ‘watch out we’ve got a badass over here’ meme, participated in Reddit’s Ask Me Anything series of public questions and answers. One user asked the next question: “Which books should be read by every single intelligent person on the planet?” 

Neil decided to offer 8 essentials in life and then he added: “If you read all of the above works you will glean profound insight into most of what has driven the history of the western world.”
