Mariah Carey is known for being one of the biggest divas in history, but also for her bad memory. Remember the early 2000’s when she said she didn’t know J-Lo? Well, that’s still a thing and on December 18th Carey was invited to “Watch What Happens Live” where she threw a little bit of shade to other female pop stars including Demi Lovato.
Mimi was invited to play the game “Does She Know Her?” of course, the title refers to the still ongoing drama with Jennifer Lopez, but this time Carey was asked if she knew today’s pop music biggest stars.
“I don’t know her”.
We are talking about Mariah Carey here, so you know the answer will be pretty much the same unless you are like super cool at Beyonce levels. Sorry Jen….
She doesn’t even know Madonna.
Ariana Grande: Nope. “Honestly, I’m really not familiar.”
Madonna: Not really. “Uh, never had a conversation with her.”
Miley Cyrus: Maybe? “I think we met in a bathroom … I don’t know.”
Carey remembers a few who went to her show.
Apparently, this is the only way she’ll say you are someone.
Lady Gaga: Yes. Gaga went to one of her shows. “She was very sweet … and we had a nice conversation.”
Taylor Swift: Yep. “Very nice girl. Met her once, she was really sweet.”
Katy Perry: Yes. “Nice girl, she came to my show as well.”
Her approval only applies to other divas.
Britney Spears: YES. “I love Britney Spears.”
Beyoncé: “We’re friends. I think she’s one of the most talented women out there and I just love her,”
But what about Demi Lovato?
Later on the show, Mariah was asked about her personal life and if she knew the pop singer, and Mariah responded in a way only she could do it.
Demi tried to mess with Carey.
Back in June, someone posted a meme comparing Mariah and Ariana Grande and Lovato commented “Mariah is a legend and so talented but constantly disses people … The woman is mean for no reason.”
So, does she know Demi?
“I don’t know her either, and so I wouldn’t say anything to her.”
Mariah gave Demi a lesson on how to throw shade.
“She should come up, introduce herself to me, say here’s my opinion, ‘What do you think about it?’ That’s how you handle sh**, OK?”
Just in case you need a reminder of the J-Lo drama.
Although the boricua actress said they’ve met, Mariah just keeps on denying it. But that’s just her. Deal with it.
