It can be cataloged as the biggest protest of arms control in a whole generation. Meetings everywhere were held throughout the United States, as protesters crowded the streets demanding the implementation of stricter measures, due to the deadly mass shooting that took place in February in Florida.
This tragedy not only shocked humanity, it also ignited the #NeverAgain movement. This past Saturday was based on the motto March For Our Lives, a concentration that took place in Washington DC, it is estimated that more than 200,000 protesters attended, according to CBS News.
Mutual support
This movement was not only seen in the USA, but also in distant places such as London, Paris, Tokyo, Stockholm, Sydney, Geneva and Berlin. Countries that supporting this cause that generates so much commotion. Powerful messages delivered by children and students who have lived this form of gun violence closely.
Living the dream again
Among the people who took the stage to give a message of support, we could see the granddaughter of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr, named Yolanda Renee King. She blew up the crowd when she spoke of her “dream”.
“I have a dream that enough is enough,” she said, referring to the famous speech of his grandfather I Have A Dream, which emphasized the elimination of racism.
“That this should be a world without weapons,” she concluded.
This was a surprise for everyone who was at that moment in the place, giving her encouragement and hope.
Also, people who lived this face to face shared their anecdotes and said “thank you”
This leads to 2012 when a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School came to commit a tragedy.
But on Saturday, the survivors of this school massacre that claimed the lives of 27 people joined to support this noble cause.
“United States, I beg you to realize that this is not right,” said Matthew Soto, whose sister died after this shooting at Sandy Hook. “Show those who say that our lives are not more important than a gun that we are important,” he added.
Inspiring people around
An 11 years old girl who raised her voice at this rally, Naomi Wadler resounded at the March For Our Lives rally.
This fifth-grade student from Alexandria, Virginia said she was representing all African-American girls ignored by the media and suffering from gun violence.
“I am here today to recognize and represent African-American girls whose stories do not appear on the front pages of all national newspapers and are not news at night,” she said.
He added that they represented those who are “simply statistics” instead of “vibrant and beautiful girls who are full of potential!”.
The celebrities also lent their support to this march for awareness
The legend of The Beatles supported the demonstration in New York, speaking about gun control. “One of my best friends was shot not far from here,” he said, referring to John Lennon, who was shot near the park in 1980.

Kim Kardashian West and her husband Kanye flew exclusively to Washington DC to join this cause.
Endless stars supported this movement. We saw George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey and the Oscar-winning director, Steven Spielberg, the world-famous author Stephen King and last but not least the favorite host, Ellen DeGeneres with Jimmy Fallon.

Posters that created awareness
The posters that the protesters carried that day included direct and strong messages that criticized the legislators who oppose the toughest laws, many others go to the National Rifle Association (NRA), a powerful US arms lobby.

A day to remember, remember that we are not alone, and that we must create awareness about weapons, this can not go on, innocent people die every day at the hands of humans without any decency. Time to stop
