James Parsons got married on May 13, 2017, with the love of his life, Todd Spiewak. The ceremony took place at the Rainbow Room in New York City. Congratulations!
Parsons shared on Monday that he had married his longtime boyfriend. He posted on Instagram a picture of himself and Spiewak holding hands and walking down the aisle in tuxedos. He shared another one of their very first dance together. His rep confirmed that the wedding happened on Saturday.
Last year, the couple celebrated 14 years together. The ‘Big Bang Theory’ star shared on his Instagram: “I met this guy… 14 years ago today and it was the best thing that ever happened to me, no contest.” This deserves the most genuine and authentic “Aww” ever.
Back in 2015, he was asked in an interview on The View if he and Spiewak were planning to get married. “I don’t know – I guess I kind of think so but there’s no date in the book or ring on the finger,” he answered, pointing out he had grown up thinking gay marriage would not be a possibility.
The actor came out as gay in 2012
In The New York Times, the actor described that he had been in a relationship for 10 years and he’s gay. Just like that, nice and smooth, so subtle you wouldn’t even notice it if you weren’t looking for it.
He and Spiewak made their first appearance as a couple on the red carpet at the GLSEN Respect Award. The pair received the GLSEN Inspiration award and went onstage to accept it together.
The award came as a surprise for Parsons, but he said in his speech that he did not consider himself an activist nor did he consider his relationship with his partner to be “an act of activism.” Instead, he described his relationship as “an act of love, coffee in the morning, going to work, washing the clothes, taking the dogs [out] – a regular life, boring love,” according to Daily Mail.
