On Saturday, J.K. Rowling and TV personality, Piers Morgan, got into a Twitter feud. The fiery exchange followed Piers’ appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher.
The beloved author of the Harry Potter series, J.K Rowling is known lately for her opposition to Trump’s executive order. She’s also a master when it comes to roasting haters on Twitter and this time it was Piers turn.
Rowling 1, Piers 0.
Uh, oh. Uncomfortable moment.
On Friday, Piers Morgan was invited to HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. Where fellow guests got tired of Morgan’s suggestion that Clinton and Trump were as bad as each other.
The host Bill Maher argued Morgan over defending Trump and then Australian comedian Jim Jeffries jumped in the fray and shouted Piers down and finally asked Morgan to “f–k off.”
Expressing the joy of the situation.
As millions of people, Rowling was watching the episode and turned to Twitter to express her opinions on the moment.
Yes, watching Piers Morgan being told to fuck off on live TV is *exactly* as satisfying as I'd always imagined. https://t.co/4FII8sYmIt

Her Tweet went viral and Piers, a former Mirror editor and judge on Britain’s got talent replied pretty heated.
This is why I've never read a single word of Harry Potter. https://t.co/XUJBMs4KKm

And it was game on from there
Rowling quickly replied to the pretty weak Piers response and pointed out the obvious.
Because you had a premonition that one day the author would roar with laughter at seeing you called out for your bullshit on live TV? https://t.co/8rkKSqJTnG

Then she pointed out some political issues to season her upcoming defense.
.@piersmorgan Would you like a couple of hours to mock up some pictures of refugees carrying explosives to substantiate your position? https://t.co/sFj0kqIajd

And she finished defending her story and the morals of it.
.@piersmorgan If only you'd read Harry Potter, you'd know the downside of sucking up to the biggest bully in school is getting burned alive.

She then proceeded to bring up the time she beat Morgan by winning an award.
Damn this woman is dynamite!

Piers had to reply
The superior, dismissive arrogance of rabid Remain/Clinton supporters like @jk_rowling is, of course, precisely why both campaigns lost.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 11, 2017
To which J.K said.
The fact-free, amoral, bigotry-apologism of celebrity toady Piers Morgan is, of course, why it's so delicious to see him told to fuck off. https://t.co/4XNF4G0nlD

And finally, Piers replied.
Peak foul-mouthed, minor celebrity anti-Trump hysteria at its most deliciously supercilious: https://t.co/GsvU1Y75OG
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 11, 2017
Ongoing fight.
Celebrities such as Bill Maher, Patton Oswald, and Don Cheadle weighed in. Also, Rowling’s fans jumped to argue Morgan and defend Rowling’s point.
Man who claims to have never read a word of Harry Potter quotes liberally from Harry Potter book https://t.co/DhSD0bck9q

It ended in a funny-weird way
Piers then wished people a happy Saturday by sharing a picture of himself and President Trump, which he also used as his profile picture. And Rowling is now rejoicing in another battle won over haters.
Also, at some point, Piers Morgan’s son, Spencer Morgan, came in to neutralize the situation or something. Just another day on the Internet.
Well this is awkward @piersmorgan @jk_rowling pic.twitter.com/OHhkj8TWlM
