Celebs Respond To Trump’s Withdrawal Of Guideline That Would Protect Trans Students

WTF Trump

During Obama’s government,  a protection over transgender students was issued. It was a requirement that public schools allow transgender students to use the restrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their gender identities.

Instead, last Wednesday President Donald Trump revoke a landmark guideline. This makes us think that he is not concerned in protect students. This cruel act was followed by many tweets from celebrities expressing their support for trans students.

 What does Trump care about

Trump had promised he would protect the LGBTQ community, but now he turned his back. This decision impacted everyone. These kids are navigating a difficult life period, such as growing up and getting through school. Trump didn’t seem to care since he took away their protection during a stage when they’re most vulnerable.

 Celebrities ask for equality

The people protested against Trump’s action. Waving rainbow flags and chanting: “No hate, no fear, trans students are welcome here.” The celebrities did not take long to express their support with a storm of tweets.

Among the ones that raised their voices, like Jackie Evancho, Ellen DeGeneres, and Katy Perry, there was Caitlyn Jenner, who is a loyal Republican but also one of the most high-profile trans identities today.

An example for everyone

Most of the celebrities made reference to Gavin Grimm. This brave transgender teen sued his school board after it banned him from using the boys’ bathroom. Then took his issue to the Supreme Court. The stars show their support for him too since he’s considered an example.
