There are eccentric things in life and then comes Barbra Streisand cloning her pet. The singer and actress of Funny Girl had her beloved 14-year-old hairy companion, Samantha, after her death last year.

The singer told Variety in an interview that the cells in Samantha’s mouth and stomach were used as part of the cloning process.
“The clones have different personalities” commented “I’m waiting for them to grow up so they can see if they have her brown eyes and her seriousness”
Barbra confessed that when the cloned puppies arrived, she had to dress them in red and lavender to distinguish them. That’s where the inspiration for the names came, Miss Scarlet and Miss Violet.
This news stood out in social media for negative criticism from the group of animal rights (PETA). They published a tweet expressing what they felt:
“The personalities, quirks and ‘essence’ of the animals simply cannot be replicated. Considering that millions of wonderful adoptable dogs languish in shelters every year or die terrifyingly when they are abandoned. You realize that cloning is an addition to the crisis of the animal population “
“We felt the pain of Barbra Streisand for having lost her beloved dog. Yet, I would also have loved to convince her not to clone.”
Is this eccentric practice profitable?
Well unless you have a large amount of money just for this, it’s not as profitable as you think. The company Viagen Pets is an expert in this matter. They take care of the whole process, but the most important question, how much does it cost?
Producing a genetic twin of your pet costs approximately $50,000. This process guarantees the highest level of care for donors and recipients. They have avant-garde accommodation, high-nutrition diets, expert veterinary care and a host of features that enrich the lives of animals to keep them happy and very healthy.
You may wonder how many animals have been cloned until today. Some among the list we find rats, rabbits, horses, cats, and cattle.
Instead of cloning animals, someone should invent something to clone donuts instantly… Just saying
Although this practice is a bit strange, it is part of the innovation market. We have to bear in mind that the need to clone an animal doesn’t make much sense since there are so many dogs, cats and tons of animals homeless. Is it not better to save one’s life?
