Life seems to pass so fast, you close your eyes for a moment and boom! you are five years older. But during that time a lot of things happen. The Late Late Show knew exactly how to recreate it so James Corden teamed up with Anna Kendrick and Billy Eichner to do it in less than five minutes.
It is a mini musical story, but it required a lot of production and coordination. It was totally live and involved 10 different sets and 14 songs.
They perform the tale of a woman’s life.
If you thought Anna Kendrick was over singing after Pitch Perfect, then you are wrong. The actress is the protagonist of the tale and she sings most of the songs. Meanwhile, Billy Eichner was a hidden talent on music, but the greatest surprise was James, the host of the show has appeared singing a couple of times for his “Carpool Karaoke” interviews, but this time he performed like no other.
“Soundtrack to Growing Up”.
This is the second musical that James Corden performs on his show. This one starts in the delivery room with Billy Eichner singing Salt N-Pepa’s “Push It” and then Anna Kendrick comes out her mother singing Adele’s “Hello”.
Anna grows up as a rebel teenager.
She fights with her dad singing “Papa Don’t Preach” by Madonna, to later show she’s in love with James. But the Madonna fever doesn’t stop there. Corden sneaks into her room through the window and they sing “Like a Virgin”, yes, we know what they were doing.
Anna turns into a girl boss.
After graduation, James and Anna live together, they both have jobs but the only one shown is her. She performs “Bitch Better Have My Money” by Rihanna and she even made some money rain.
The couple gets married and is ready to have children.
Anna tells James that she’s pregnant singing Justin Bieber’s “Baby” and then return to the delivery room to sing “Push It” one more time. The idea of the sketch is to show the circle of life.
Anna is on fire.
The sketch was over and they totally proved a girl can do everything.
It was hilarious and perfectly done.
