Actor Channing Tatum has shared the first-ever public photo of his 8-year-old daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum, on a deserted beach. The 41-year-old stated on Instagram that his daughter is his world and his heart. Tatum shares Everly with ex-wife Jenna Dewan; he and Dewan married in 2009 and divorced 10 years later in 2018, Eonline reports.
The She’s the Man actor captioned the photo on Instagram with notes that Everly was gazing at the moon and prophesying about the moon mermaid which she actually reportedly touched when father and daughter jumped back into the water. In the photo, Tatum stands behind Everly and wrapped his arms around her while she looks up at something in the sky while the scenic sea stretched behind them.
“You are my world and my heart,” the Step Up actor wrote. “You were looking at the full moon in this pic and telling me the prophecy of the full moon mermaid and then we ran into the water and looked for her and played with glow sticks in the night water calling out to the mermaids. You said you touched a bald-headed mermaid and saw a tail. Haha, one day you will read this and I hope laugh. We have fun.”
Several of Tatum’s Instagram followers expressed delight at the rare photo of daughter and dad, with celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkins writing that Everly is “the most special girl” while another fan said, “she is so gorgeous, looks like her daddy.”
In April, the Magic Mike actor posted his face with the makeup his daughter did on him. And later that month, he released a children’s book that was inspired by Everly during the lockdown. The book is titled “The One and Only Sparkella” and the actor said he wrote the book because of the new things he learned about his childhood during the quarantine.
“Guys, I don’t know about you, but things got a little weird for me in quarantine,” he explained. “I ended up accidentally locking myself in my 7-year-old daughter’s room. And I ended up finding my inner child. It wasn’t like I had this giant idea that I wanted to write a kids’ book. It was just something that I noticed in my daughter, watching her for the very first time become self-conscious.”
Everly was born in June 2013, five years before the divorce of her parents in 2018. The couple had separated under amicable circumstances, and they had even issued a joint statement to indicate that they would remain the best of friends. “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” the couple wrote. “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”
