Brian Gillis is Third Band Member of LFO to Die, Leaving Brad Fischetti

Following the deaths of Rich Cronin and Devin Lima, Brian “Brizz” Gillis of the LFO music band is dead. Gillis died on Wednesday at the age of 47 and his death was confirmed by the only surviving member of the group, Brad Fischetti, in an Instagram post. His cause of death has not been revealed to the public.

The trio of Gillis, Cronin, and Fischetti formed the music group LFO in 1995 and they were signed to Trans Continental Records – the record label that initially signed Backstreet Boys and NSYNC and owned by Lou Pearlman. Gillis left the group in 1998 and he was replaced by Devin Lima – but the group disbanded in 2010.

Cronin was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005 and underwent chemotherapy but the disease came back in 2007 and 2008. He died in September 2010 at the age of 36. Lima suffered stage-4 cancer for one year and eventually died in November 2018 at the age of 41. Gillis is the latest LFO founding member to die. Fischetti paid glowing tributes to him as he did to the others.

When Lima joined the band following the departure of Gillis, LFO hit it big with their song “Summer Girls” and they became instant stars in the late 1990s to early 2000s. The group also hit the ceiling with the hit track “Girl on TV” which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt in the music video. The songs “I Don’t Wanna Kiss You Goodnight” and “Every Other Time” also established the band.

The group disbanded in 2005 after the death of Cronin, but they came together for a tour in 2009 and released the song “Perfect 10” in 2017 – 15 after their last music. But everything came to a halt when Lima died. In a glowing tribute, Fischetti said another chapter in the story of LFO is closed with the death of Gillis. He credited the deceased with helping the band to achieve prominence in its early years.

“Brian Gillis passed away,” Fischetti announced. “I don’t have details and it wouldn’t be my place to share them if I did. I am really struggling to process this tragic loss. I’ve said it before and I will continue to say it: the LFO Story is a tragedy. Trying [to] find redemption in pain and suffering. Trying to honor the legacy.”

The last surviving LFO member went on to state that “today, I honor my former bandmate and friend, Brizz. If it wasn’t for his hard work and dedication in the early days of LFO…the LFO you came to know and hopefully love would not exist. I know that soon or maybe already, Brizz will be greeted by Rich and Devin. And I hope that together, they will make some sweet sounds. I would really like that.”
