Robert Lowe revealed earlier this week he nearly got killed by Bigfoot in the Ozark Mountains during an investigation for his upcoming show ‘The Lowe Files.’
‘The Lowe Files’ will follow the actor has a new reality show alongside sons Matthew and John, explore modern myths as they bond in a unique way.
Rob Lowe “Genuinely terrified” of Bigfoot
Rob Lowe said he thought he was going to be killed during an encounter with a bigfoot creature while filming his new A&E docuseries.
The revelation came during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“We had an incredible encounter with what locals call the wood ape, which is in the Ozark Mountains. I’m fully aware that I sound like a crazy, Hollywood kook right now,” Rob told.
The actor said the encounter took place in the Ozark Mountains, which stretch between Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Rob added how scared he was for the alleged first-hand encounter, “I was lying on the ground thinking I was going to be killed.”
Then he described the creature.
“A wood ape is the local vernacular for a Sasquatch or a Bigfoot. [The locals] talk to you about the wood ape in all seriousness. If you call it a Bigfoot or a Sasquatch, they roll their eyes… as if that makes it less outrageous,” he added.
The episode is set to be the season finale, but Lowe is hoping that the teaser will be enough to have fans watching until the very end.
Until then we’ll have to settle with the preview of the show. Viewers get a sneak peek at the intrepid trio seeking out a Bigfoot. Haters will probably call shenanigans on the entire situation.
You can call the Lowe’s way to roll
The show promises to have a sense of humor, skepticism, and intrigue. It began as a project for the three of them, but after Lowe introduced the idea to A&E, the network wanted in.
“If you put Anthony Bourdain in a blender with Scooby Doo, you’d get the tone of this show,” Lowe told Entertainment Weekly.
In addition to searching for Bigfoot creatures, ‘The Lowe Files’ will investigate haunted sites like Preston Castle, an abandoned reformatory in California, and the site of a supposed UFO base near the Malibu shoreline.
Lowe isn’t promising major results but is hoping that viewers will join him in making memories with his sons, wood ape or not.
“Nothing is staged, nothing is trick-cut — no bullshit. I believe there are probably ghosts out there,” Lowe told Us. “I don’t want to oversell as a results-oriented show, although we have incredible results.”
It’s definitely an unusual approach to family bonding, but it must be fun. The show will premiere on August 2 on A&E.
