The Grammys was introduced to the world as a face-to-face between the new edgier Beyonce and the heartache ballads of Adele. They both competed for the album of the year.
What nobody expected was the humility that both singers expressed during the event. Each one managed to shine without discrediting the other. We need to highlighting the fact that Adele decided to break his statuette in two parts claiming that both deserve to win.
A directed message to African American women with themes of resilience.
Beyonce’s exceptional work led her to 9 nominations. Some were the most prestigious awards, Album of the Year for Lemonade and Record of the Year for her song “Formation.¨
But the singer faced competition in the main categories with Adele, who proved her enduring, massive commercial popularity. Ultimately, Adele became the massive winner of the night.
Adele’s humble words
The British took home the five awards to which she was nominated, including best album for “25″, record and song of the year by Hello. Adele decided to honor Beyoncé by receiving the award for best album and suggesting that the American artist deserved her more than she did.
“I can not accept this award,” he said. “I feel very honored and I am very grateful, but Beyoncé is the artist of my life”. She expressed “You are our light, your work Lemonade is monumental, so monumental, so well thought, so beautiful.”
Mean Girls style
When Adele broke her “Album of the Year” memes started to appear through social media. Comparing the humble act with the iconic scene from Tina Fey’s 2004 film “Mean Girls”
