With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time to discuss what we can expect from this year’s spooky and scary festivity. And lucky for you, we came up with the costume predictions for this year.
And just in case you’re just not feeling in the Halloween mood, there’s a list of movies for you to catch up and get in the mood during the weekend.
Introducing this year’s possible costumes parade
Halloween is for many the time of the year that allows them to come up with the coolest and craziest costumes ideas. Most of those ideas are based on pop-culture and we just love it.
Last year was all full of Elevens mingling with Barbs and Christmas-light walls, Reys hanging out with Poes and sexy BB-8s. And let’s not forget the disarming amount of Trumps and Clintons ripping shots with Harley Quinns and Hodors.
Even though these characters will most likely appear again this Halloween, 2017 has introduced its own new set of pop culture costumes. Here’s a handy guide of what to expect this Halloween, for better or worse.
‘The Handmaid’s Tale‘ made quite an impression in viewers and was kind of hot topic considering the political climate, which is why we’ll most likely see lots of handmaids walking around parties but having fun. Fortunately, not being enslaved to comply their biological function. So yes, this is not a funny costume, but rather scary considering it’s oh-so-possible. Still, you can bet you’ll see an Offred and so on.
Going on with the political climate, in the politically charged moment, there are some figures that will most likely make the rounds in every party this year.
While we already have the totalitarian regime costumes for kids, politics will surely take over this Halloween. Specifically, the 2016-2017 administrative cycle which already has a few instant costumes. You’ll see Jareds and Ivankas, Sean Spicers behind podiums and hedges, Kellyanne Conways, and plenty of versions of Anthony Scaramucci and his particular style.
Classic tv and movies characters
Carrying on to fans favorites, there’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ which has inspired Daeneryses and Cerseis for a couple of years now. Yes, you’ll still get a glimpse of some of those. But this year also comes loaded with new costumes ideas. We can expect a new slate of GoT inspired looks: blue-eyed dragons, the Knight King and of course steamy yet incestuous couples going like Jon Snow and his queen Daenerys.
In another fan favorite, there’s super-hit movie ‘Wonder Woman.’ This spectacular heroine will also make the rounds of this season’s costumes ideas. The hit movie will surely inspire both Comic-Con and non-Comic-Con crowds to honor their new heroine. You’ll also probably see lots of Amazonian warriors because they’re so tough and cool.
We’ll also see not so pretty, nor sexy, Pennywises all over the place. The ‘It’ movie caused quite some fuzz and it was premiered just in the beginning of the Halloween season. We even saw red balloons floating in towns. It only makes sense the hit will also inspire lots of Halloween costumes. Just make sure you don’t float.
The other side
Also this year we’ll see the traditional Kardashians costumes because let’s face it, Halloween is for many girls the opportunity to wear mini dresses and channel their inner Kardashian. Luckily, this year we’ll see them but with a little spin: pregnant Kardashians! Yep, we’ll see the reality stars with little bump and all the glam all amid pregnancy rumors, confirmations and the sweet waiting.
And last but not least, all the Taylor Swifts versions will take on the parties, some even simultaneously. Following Taylor Swift’s grand comeback in the MTV VMA, we can only hope to see all the versions of Taylor Swift in every party. So, embrace to go down memory lane and see once more all of the past Swift’s styles over the years.
Brace yourself!
