Starbucks and Lady Gaga teamed up for a good cause and launched the ‘Cups of Kindness’ collection on Tuesday. Which includes the release of two new drinks and profits, that will go to the singer’s ‘Born This Way Foundation’ and the ‘Channel Kindness’ project.
What’s this partnership about?
The coffee retailer announced ‘Cups for Kindness’, the partnership with Lady Gaga, which will run from June 13 through June 19. Featuring four colorfully named refreshers, including Violet Drink, Pink Drink, Ombré Pink Drink and Matcha Lemonade. The last two are brand new!
The Seattle-based company will donate 25 cents from each sale of the four beverages at participating stores in the U.S. and Canada. “We’re healthier and happier when we live our lives with compassion,” said Lady Gaga in a statement. “Our communities are stronger when we treat one another with generosity and respect.” Starbucks has committed to contributing a minimum of $250,000 to the Born This Way Foundation through the partnership.
In 2012, Gaga and her mother launched the ‘Born This Way Foundation’. The empowerment organization focuses on issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development through research, education, and advocacy.’Born This Way’ declared 2017 their year of kindness, explaining that it is the backbone of each of the foundation’s actions.
The collaboration is designed to spread kindness throughout the world. Through the ‘Channel Kindness’, which is a platform created to give acts of kindness across the country.This way, Lady Gaga, becomes the latest artist to have a partnership with the coffee mogul, along with celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Alexander Wang.

The collection looks quite cool. It includes two existing Starbucks beverages: ‘Pink Drink’ and ‘Ombre Pink Drink’. These two feature coconut milk, which is shaping up to be Starbucks’ ingredient of the summer.While Pink Drink is strawberry acai with coconut milk, Ombre Pink Drink is a blend of lime, coconut milk, and Teavana Passion Tango Tea.
The two new ones, Violet Drink and Matcha Lemonade, are Gaga‘s favorite. “I instantly fell in love with the Matcha Lemonade,” she said in a press release.
Matcha Lemonade is lemonade shaken with matcha green tea and Violet Drink is made with blackberry, hibiscus and coconut milk.The perfect drink to start off the summer!
