Carrie Fisher And Debbie Reynolds House To Be Auctioned

Movie Geeks Behold, The Fisher-Reynolds House Will Be Auctioned Along With Some Amazing Items.

In September, fans of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will have the opportunity to own some of the later stars’ own personal items. The legendary Hollywood duo were great collectors and possessed amazing movie memorabilia. The Fisher-Reyolds compound will also be put on the housing market once the auction is complete.

The Reynold’s and their collection

On Thursday, the ‘Profiles in History’ auction house will sell more than 1,500 items that belonged to the two actresses. Mother and daughter died a day apart in December and were buried together in January.

The auction follows the late actresses wishes. Portions of the proceeds will be going to Debbie‘s mental health charity the ‘Thalians’ and to the ‘Jed Foundation.’ The group was chosen by Carrie‘s only child Billie Lourd.

Todd Fisher, son, and brother of the Hollywood duo said in a statement via Entertainment Tonight: “The size and scope of their collection rivals most museums. So in keeping with my mother’s wishes, we have decided to share part of their magnificent collection with all their friends and fans.”

The duo dedicated their lives to collect iconic pieces throughout decades. Their collections were such that at one point they owned Marilyn Monroe’s iconic white Seven Year Itch dress. And Audrey Hepburn’s famous horserace ensemble from ‘My Fair Lady’.

Reynolds dedicated much of her time to arts and was really into preserving Hollywood history. The actress even opened a museum to hold it all in 1995, but it closed down. However, the actress tried five times to get the Academy of Arts and Sciences to house the collection. But this didn’t happen. That’s when she began auctioning off her collection and in recent years she held a series of auctions unloading many of her pieces.

The auction will include the sickest items owned by the Reynolds

The collection is considered one of the greatest Hollywood memorabilia’s. While many of their pieces were from their movies, the actress also collected a huge range of items from different decades and sources. The auction will take place on September 23 and will be handled by’ Profiles in History’.

The company lists some of the most impressive items from her collection up for bid: the lavender silk chiffon dress Reynolds wore in Singin’ In The Rain, her stage costume from Annie Get Your Gun, a pair of replica ruby slippers from The Wizard Of Oz, a hand-carved harp from the set of Cleopatra, and Francis Ford Coppola’s camera used on The Godfather.

Among the most biddable items will surely be Fisher’s Star Wars collectibles.  Including, a life-size Princess Leia statue, coming out of a British-style phone booth.

Also, Carrie’s personalized director’s chair from the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi set—which reads “Star Wars: The Saga Continues.” A life-size C-3PO with electronic lighting elements and a life-size bronze, limited edition Yoda statue that she also owned.

The house is going to be auctioned too

While the Reynold’s had a classic home, Fisher made sure to print her bright personality in it.

In 2004, Reynolds told Architectural Digest, her guesthouse has seen the likes of the “famous and near famous: the well and those in need of healing, addicts, depressives, those being treated for cancer and HIV, those just passing through. There’s been anything and everything holed up in this Hollywood-style hacienda.”

The Fisher-Reynolds estate sits on 3½ acres in Beverly Hills, California, and includes a swimming pool, tennis court, and guest house. The 1928 hacienda-style home was previously owned by actress Bette Davis and Hollywood costume designer Edith Head. Reynolds and Fisher lived in separate houses on the property, which is listed for $18 million.

Once the auction is completed, the Fisher-Reynolds estate in Beverly Hills will be put on the housing market. However,  the three-and-a-half-acre estate in Beverly Hills is being sold separately and has been listed at $18m.

The sale will be handled by real estate company Williams & Williams Estates.
