Remembering Christina in a very special way

Christina competed in Season 6 of The Voice and Adam was her coach. The two remained close on the show and were pretty fond of each other.

On June last year, Christina was shot in the head by Kevin James Loibl. The singer was singing autographs during a meet and greet outside her concert in Orlando. The shooter then shot himself.

When Adam first learned the news he said in a statement, “Behati and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie’s tragic death. Our hearts go out to her family. Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon.”

Kind words and gestures from Levine

Before the beautiful rendition,  Adam shared some words. The Maroon 5 lead man said, “God, I loved her so much. I’m talking to you guys specifically,” he told her parents.

He continued, “I miss her. It’s unfair that she’s not here, and we’re gonna sing her a little song tonight, and I’m gonna be singing every word to her, in her honor.” The Voice coach paid Christina’s funeral last year, after learning the tragic news.
