Tina Fey Goes Full Musical Joining Jimmy Fallon’s Ragtime Gals On A Bruno Mars Cover

The Former SNL Star Giving Us Some Musical Goals

Tina Fey is going full musical! Tina Fey dropped by The Tonight Show on Wednesday and delivered the perfect cover of Bruno Mars’ That’s What I Like it.

Fey also shared some news with her former Saturday Night Live co-star after giving us some new smooth music goals.

Yep, that’s what Tina Fey Likes it

The Tonight Show upgrade its game when it comes to musical renditions if that’s even possible after Tina Fey dropped by on Wednesday.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt creator joined Fallon’s barbershop quartet, The Ragtime Pals, making it a quintet to bring an old-timey acapella vibe to Bruno Mars’ hit.

The pop song with an overtly sexual message would usually not be typically suited for this type of family-friendly performance. But that was no biggie for the quintet.

The less sex-on-purpose cover was definitely more spirited however it managed to keep it sexiness with Tina singing, “Silk sheets and diamonds all white/ Lucky for you, that’s what I like.”

This way the Saturday Night Live veteran joined the roster of famous Ragtime Gals’ guests, including Sting and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Musical update on Mean Girls

The former ’30 Rock’ star gave Jimmy an update on the ‘Mean Girls’ musical she’s producing. Tina who wrote the 2004’s movie script, is now producing the musical of the iconic high school life movie.

According to Tina, things are “moving along” and the show will hit theaters later this year. In fact, she said that the show will perform three blocks from the White House.

“We’re going to D.C. We’re at the National Theatre,” she revealed. “Previews start on Halloween. It’s so cool. It’s so fun because — you can sing — but I’ve been in stuff that’s like movie musicals, whatever, a little bit. The secret with movie musicals is you can secretly suck and be a star. But to do things on stage?”

Tina advanced that the show has been rehearsing for a while now and praised the cast, “Like, these kids are so talented. We have the cast now. We’ve been rehearsing for about a month. There’s a bunch of baby Timberlakes. Everyone can do everything! They just sing so loud and they dance so hard.”

The two longtime buddies discussed family life and Tina’s hilarious youngest child. Tina also congratulated Jimmy on his Florida Universal ride and gave him all the details on her family’s recent visit to the new ride.
