Tiffany Haddish On SNL Addressed Sexual Harassment In Her Monologue

SNL Finally Tackled The Issue

‘Girls Trip’ actress Tiffany Haddish totally delivered as ‘Saturday Night Live’ host. She addressed the sexual harassment headlines in her monologue.

After a long silence relating the sexual scandal, the NBC iconic show tackled the issue in a great way on ‘Weekend Update,’ and even gave it a political treatment on the cold opening.

Way to go, Tiffany

With many sexual harassment allegations in the headlines, the topic is definitely on people’s mind and ‘Saturday Night Live‘ decided to address the current news.

Tiffany Hadish made her host debut on the fifth episode of the ongoing season, becoming the first black female comedian to host the show.

And keeping up with the situation, she decided to address the sexual harassment headlines in her monologue.

The ‘Girls Trip’ actress also threw in what she called a “Tiff Tip” for men.

“We’ve been talking about the whole sexual harassment stuff that’s been going on, and look here, okay, guys? Fellas, I got a tip for Y’all. I like to call it Tiffany’s tips — it’s a Tiff tip,” she said.

“Listen, fellas, listen, okay — if you got your thing-thing out, and she’s got all her clothes on, you’re wrong! You’re in the wrong!”

“Wait till she takes off her own clothes, then pulls your thing-thing out, okay?”

Haddish’s remarks made direct reference to comedian Louis C.K, who was accused of sexual misconduct by several women on Friday.

The allegations against C.K. came amid several misconduct allegations against Hollywood actors, directors, agents and producers. Including notorious producer Harvey Weinstein, director Brett Ratner and actors Kevin Spacey, Ed Westwick and others.

Tackling the issue in full force

Last October, ‘SNL’ faced criticism for initially side-stepping the Harvey Weinstein scandal the week the allegations first surfaced.

The show did later on hold a panel about sexual harassment in Hollywood, in which they ridiculed the producer.

But this time the show tackled the issue starting right on the cold open, which for the first time was Alec Baldwin-free and gave other politician impressions the spotlight.

Earlier last week, allegations that Senate candidate Roy Moore pursued a 14-year-old when he was 32 surface, and ‘SNL’ addressed it.

Beck Bennett reprised his role as Mike Pence as he attempted to convince disgraced Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore of Alabama, played by Mikey Day, to drop out of race calling the “latest news” about him “concerning.”

“Voters in Alabama will never elect someone who’s had relations with a minor,” Beck Bennett’s Vice President Pence said.

“You sure about that?” said ‘SNL’s Roy Moore.

“It’s hard to convince people that you’re not into young girls when you dress like Woody from ‘Toy Story,’” Bennett’s Pence said, adding that Moore needs to “do the right thing.”

“All right, if everyone thinks I did it, I’ll marry her,” the Moore character answered.

The opening sketch also dropped the show’s first Louis C.K. mention, who has hosted ‘SNL’ numerous times.

“Even I heard about Louis C.K. and I’m not allowed to watch TV,” Bennett’s Pence said.

“I’m only allowed to listen to it.”

Ain’t that hard to be respectful

“Well, it’s a good weekend to stay inside since it’s 20 degrees out and everyone you’ve ever heard of is a sex monster,” Colin Jost cracked. With photos of C.K., Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein and Moore on the screen

So it started ‘SNL’s Weekend Update skit, and while they also discussed another news making the headlines such as Donald Trump visiting Vietnam, and the Sutherland Springs church shooting, they take on once again the sexual misconduct allegations.

Cecily Strong shows up in ‘Weekend Update’ as Claire from HR to discuss the topic furtherly.

She rolled into the segment on a chair and looking rather exhausted and frazzled over the couple of pretty busy days she’s had.

“I haven’t been home in three days,” she says, referencing all the recent allegations that have been reported.

She then goes on to give ‘Weekend Update’ host Colin Jost a quiz about how to properly behave in the workplace.

She asks him questions like, “When should your penis ever be out of your pants at work?” and “When is it OK for an adult to have a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old?”

While for Jost the answers are rather obvious, Claire expressed relief every time he gets the right answer.

“You’d be surprised how many people get that wrong. It could almost make you lose your mind,” she says after one of the questions, with her frustration intensifying after each one.

Jost passes the quiz in the segment, but Claire isn’t convinced that her job is done yet.

“I’m sure I’ll be back next week and the week after that forever and ever because all of this isn’t just a scandal,” she says.

“It didn’t just start last week. It’s actual reality for half the population.”
